HighScope Curriculum

During 2025, we are making some changes and will be instituting a new curriculum called HighScope. This curriculum has been around for over 50yrs and is used throughout all 50 states.

The HighScope curriculum is a child-centered, play-based approach to early childhood education that emphasizes active learning. It’s based on the idea that children learn best by interacting with the world around them.

Benefits:

  • Aligns with national and state early learning standards

  • Supports children’s development of fundamental abilities

  • Helps children learn to make choices and follow through on their plans

It is grounded in research and centered on active learning. The program is designed to empower students to explore and learn with their whole body for optimal learning and growth!

Active learning leads to a positive impact on children’s success throughout their time at school,

You will see less worksheets and more in-class exploring. Using new materials daily to reinforce shapes, numbers, colors, letters, etc. More than that we use tools and teaching methods that help focus on Key Developmental indicators. This helps the Tender Heart’s staff closely monitor their learning journey.
